Good governance is a fundamental imperative for the socio-economic development of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and particularly in Lomami Province. In this context, parliamentary oversight plays a crucial role as a mechanism for accountability and transparency in government actions. As the legislative body, parliament is responsible for evaluating public policies, monitoring resource allocation, and defending citizens' rights and interests. However, parliament's capacity to exercise effective oversight is often hampered by institutional, legal, and socio-political challenges. This article examines the contribution of parliamentary oversight to promoting good governance in Lomami Province, highlighting current practices, obstacles encountered, and avenues for improvement to strengthen the effectiveness of oversight mechanisms. This work aims to provide insights into the links between an active parliament and the consolidation of a democratic framework conducive to responsible governance.
