Access to water has been the subject of several research studies that have continued to grow over the years. The in-depth bibliometric analysis of the Scopus database highlights that this topic is not new enough and has not been fully studied. The methodological approach adopted is based on the use of R software and aims to take stock of knowledge on inequalities in access to drinking water. This work reports on an approach for scientific production through bibliometric analysis. A total of 170 journals published between 2002 and 2023 were exported from Scopus in July 2024 and analyzed with the bibliometrix package and the biblioshiny interface of R 4.3.3 software. The main results of this research showed that scientific production on socio-spatial inequalities in access to water is generally on the rise between 2002 and 2023. The analysis of keywords and the evolution of themes reveal that drinking water, water supply and accessibility were the most developed topics in the literature. The results provide clues for future research on: i) information management, ii) social vulnerability of access to drinking water.
